  • Wednesday, May 16. Vote for PTA Open Executive positions! Voting will take place during the Expert Expo and GT night. It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that we have enough PTA members present to vote in new officers. The process should only take a moment or two. PLEASE VOTE! More info in the PTA newsletter. 

  • Wednesday, May 16. GT Fair and Expert Expo. 6:30pm.

  • Thursday, May 17. Thunder Hill Cares Food Collection for Motel Boxes final day. Students can bring their food items with them to school; parents may also drop off food donations at the school. Questions or to volunteer to help box up the food, jillmcleigh@gmail.com. Each grade has been given a specific assignments to ensure that we have the appropriate food items for each box:
    • K: energy/granola bars, packets of peanut butter or cheese crackers
    • 1st: microwaveable soups or stews (pull-top cans)
    • 2nd: packets of canned tuna or chicken with crackers
    • 3rd: cereal (standard size boxes), peanut butter, jelly
    • 4th: fruit cups (single servings)
    • 5th: juice boxes, water bottles (small)
  • Friday, May 18. No school for students.

  • Thursday, May 24. Field Day. We need volunteers! Work in shifts or the whole day (9:20 am to 3 pm). It takes a lot of volunteers to make this a success! Return the form in your Friday Folder or contact Mr. Chiarella at David_Chiarella@hcpss.org

  • Tuesday, June 5, SOAR Party. Parent volunteers needed to help from 1:45-3:45pm. Please contact Miss Lawn at nicole_lawn@hcpss.org.

Recruiting Now: 2012-13 THES PTA!

Volunteer for the THES PTA! Many positions ask you to donate just 3 hours a month — or less — with work you can do at home, on your own schedule.

The PTA has great things planned for THES next year, and we want YOU to be a part of them! So, we’re asking each family to volunteer for something—a one-time event, an ongoing program, or, even better, a Board or Committee position—during the 2012-13 school year. Why now? It takes planning to get things done, and with all of the people in place, we’ll be able to return in August ready to go!

Board members and committee chairs do most work at home, on their own schedule, with the exception of the monthly PTA meetings held at school. There are a number of great opportunities opening up in the fall; sign up now with the added bonus of having the current Board member/Chair to help you get started.

Giant Gift Cards: The Easiest Way to Help the PTA

When you buy a card from THES, the school earns 5% back, and, you can use the card for nearly anything in the store. Download the order form now!

Look for Jen Cisneros outside the school every Friday morning in the Giant Gift Card Booth.

*Giant gift cards cost the same at THES as at the store ($25, $50, $100).
*Checks accepted.
*Gift cards can be used for Peapod orders.
*If your child takes the bus or you have other concerns, email Jen and she will help you out.
